Totes Titanium Auto-Open/Close Umbrella Review

by: admin

This is a great sturdy umbrella, very wind resistant, the auto-open/close works great. The only non-automatic thing you have to do is push the umbrella into its collapsed position, and wrap the ribbon around it (if only there were a mechanism that could do that for you! But this is a flaw shared by every umbrella I've ever encountered). Its not too big in size but its not one of those compact one either.
Totes titanium, auto open/close, folding umbrella makes for easy use while getting in and out of a car, or opening and closing doors. The titanium reinforced ribs provide optimal strength and performance no matter what the elements.

5.0 out of 5 starsS. S.: Totes are the best umbrellas!
Totes makes the best umbrellas. And you get a lifetime warranty with it. I had one for 20 years and it finally gave out. Totes sent me a brand new replacement.

5.0 out of 5 starsP. J. Piters : Great, strong umbrella
Totes has really done it this time. With the titanium braces you won't have to worry anymore about your umbrella turning inside out. Easy 1 button open/close feature. Well worth the price Folds to 9 inches when closed. Great buy.

4.0 out of 5 starsR. Richw: Compact and easy to use
My last Totes umbrella lasted over 12 years, then I lost it. So I purchased another one and I hope this will last 12 years too. I've never had a Totes break on me, I just lose them.

This self opening and closing titanium umbrella fits neatly in the side slot of my computer back pack. It's lightweight, I don't even know it's there. Take it out of the sleeve, undo the velcro retainer and push the button, pop! it opens. Walk to the door and push the button and it closes again. (Just the top part folds down to let you get through the doorway.)

It's big enough for just me, I don't think two people could easily share. But that's OK, I'm usually by myself on my walk to the office.

It's a good buy and Totes' warranty covers it for life for any defects. I'm very satisfied with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars C. Robinson: Nice Umbrella - Difficult to close
I received this umbrella about a month ago. It's a nice size when closed, fits in my purse, and is big enough to cover me and another person in the rain. My only issue is that I have trouble closing it in it's locked position. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries to get it to lock. Maybe it'll get easier as I get more used to it.

2.0 out of 5 stars E. Venturi: Broke first day-Update
My previous review of the product is below...I wanted to follow up however, to say that I promtply received a very nice letter back from Totes customer service and they not only returned my check (for the cost of shipping) but they sent me two (2) new umbrellas to replace the one I sent back. While I have not used the new ones yet and cant say how well they hold up I can say that Totes does stand behind their product so I give their customer service a 5+ STAR rating.....

-------------------------

Maybe I was just unlucky but my titanium umbrella broke the first day I used it..It actually broke the second time I opened it. Apparently one of the rivets broke on one of the arms so that when it opened it just got all bent out of shape. I'm sending it back for a replacement but so far im not impressed to say the least. Typically I buy cheap $2 or $3 umbrellas that have lasted a whole lot longer than an hour!!!!!

Hopefully the replacement will do better...

1.0 out of 5 stars J. Kim: Totes quality is going down
These umbrellas lasted me for less than a year in Los Angeles, which rains maybe two weeks a year. One of flimsly built umbrella skeleton broke in a slightly windy condition (and it doesn't get that windy in Los Angeles). I am not even sure if the wind broke it since it almost broke down by itself.

I have used Totes for over 20 years. I can ascertain that Totes umbrella of 20 years ago, although no robust tank, was far more durable than this recent rendition.
